Il mio PT mi ha detto di non saltare il deload. Ho fatto il PR sullo squat!<\/em> Il fitness moderno parla inglese, e capire questo gergo non \u00e8 solo una questione di cultura \u2014 \u00e8 il modo per sentirti parte della community, fare le domande giuste al tuo coach e non sembrare un pesce fuor d&#8217;acqua sui social.<\/p><p>In questa guida analizziamo uno per uno i termini pi\u00f9 cercati, dalle domande di base fino alle sfumature che separano chi frequenta la palestra da chi la <em>vive<\/em>.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><h2><strong>Natty: molto pi\u00f9 di una parola<\/strong><\/h2><p><strong>Natty<\/strong> descrive un atleta che si allena e costruisce il fisico senza l&#8217;uso di sostanze dopanti \u2014 steroidi anabolizzanti, ormoni della crescita, peptidi e composti simili. Chi \u00e8 natty ottiene i risultati solo tramite allenamento, alimentazione e riposo.<\/p><p>Il dibattito su chi sia davvero natty \u00e8 uno dei pi\u00f9 accesi di tutta la cultura fitness online. Esistono federazioni di bodybuilding &#8220;natural&#8221; che richiedono test antidroga agli atleti, ma anche molti utenti dei social che si dichiarano natty pur usando integratori o farmaci. Da qui nasce il termine ironico <strong>&#8220;natty or not&#8221;<\/strong> \u2014 una sfida rivolta a chi mostra fisici estremi.<\/p><h3><strong>Cosa vuol dire essere natty?<\/strong><\/h3><p>Essere natty significa rispettare una filosofia di allenamento che esclude qualsiasi ausilio farmacologico. In pratica: <strong>s\u00ec<\/strong> a creatina, proteine in polvere e vitamine (considerati semplici integratori alimentari); <strong>no<\/strong> a steroidi, SARMs, insulina, EPO e simili. Il confine tra integratore e farmaco \u00e8 spesso al centro della discussione, ma nella cultura comune il termine natty identifica chi non usa doping in senso stretto.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><h2><strong>Gymbro: chi \u00e8, cosa fa, come si riconosce<\/strong><\/h2><p><strong>Gymbro<\/strong> (o gym bro, da <em>gym<\/em> + <em>bro<\/em>, abbreviazione di <em>brother<\/em>) \u00e8 un sostantivo informale che indica una persona \u2014 tipicamente ma non esclusivamente di genere maschile \u2014 la cui vita ruota in modo significativo attorno alla palestra: orari, dieta, integratori, contenuti social e conversazioni. Non \u00e8 necessariamente un insulto: pu\u00f2 essere un&#8217;autoidentificazione orgogliosa quanto un&#8217;etichetta ironica applicata dall&#8217;esterno.<\/p><h3><strong>Chi sono i gym bro?<\/strong><\/h3><p>Non esiste un profilo unico. Il gym bro classico dei meme \u00e8 quello che parla solo di proteine, arriva in palestra con la bag griffata e passa met\u00e0 del tempo a fotografarsi tra un set e l&#8217;altro. Ma la realt\u00e0 \u00e8 pi\u00f9 sfumata: molti si autodefiniscono gym bro semplicemente per indicare che la palestra \u00e8 una priorit\u00e0 reale nella loro quotidianit\u00e0, senza accezione negativa.<\/p><p>Sui social, TikTok e Instagram in primis,\u00a0 il termine \u00e8 diventato un&#8217;intera <strong>categoria di contenuto<\/strong>: ci sono creator che costruiscono la loro identit\u00e0 attorno all&#8217;essere gym bro, con routine, ricette high-protein, consigli di allenamento e aggiornamenti sul proprio bulk o cut.<\/p><h3><strong>Come si dice gym bro al femminile?<\/strong><\/h3><p>Non esiste un termine ufficiale e universale. In inglese si usano espressioni come <em>gym girl<\/em>, <em>gym girlie<\/em> o <em>that girl<\/em> \u2014 quest&#8217;ultima associata a un&#8217;etica specifica fatta di allenamento mattutino, journaling e cura di s\u00e9 olistica. In italiano si sente spesso il calco <strong>&#8220;gymbra&#8221;<\/strong>, costruito per analogia, anche se non \u00e8 un termine standardizzato. Sui social italiani gira anche semplicemente <em>gym girl<\/em> senza traduzione.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><h2><strong>PT: il professionista che fa la differenza<\/strong><\/h2><p><strong>PT<\/strong> \u00e8 l&#8217;abbreviazione di <strong>Personal Trainer<\/strong>, il professionista certificato del fitness che progetta programmi di allenamento su misura, monitora la corretta esecuzione degli esercizi e guida il cliente verso i suoi obiettivi \u2014 che siano dimagrimento, aumento della massa muscolare, performance sportiva o benessere generale. Con PT si intende anche, per estensione, la singola sessione di allenamento guidato.<\/p><h3><strong>Cosa significa PT in palestra e cosa fa davvero?<\/strong><\/h3><p>La figura del PT \u00e8 molto pi\u00f9 articolata di quanto sembri. Un buon personal trainer non si limita a contare le ripetizioni: valuta la postura, analizza gli obiettivi, tiene conto di eventuali problematiche fisiche e costruisce un programma progressivo che evolve nel tempo. In molte palestre moderne il PT lavora anche su nutrizione di base, recupero e aspetti mentali della costanza.<\/p><p>Vale la pena sapere che in UK e Australia PT abbrevia anche <em>Physiotherapist<\/em> (fisioterapista), creando a volte confusione. In contesti sportivi italiani, il riferimento \u00e8 quasi sempre al personal miglior risultato mai ottenuto in un determinato esercizio o disciplina: il massimale di panca, il tempo sulla 5K, il numero di trazioni consecutive. Fare un PR significa superare se stessi, battere un limite precedente. In alcune discipline, soprattutto nell&#8217;atletica britannica, si usa l&#8217;equivalente <strong>PB<\/strong> (<em>Personal Best<\/em>), ma nel powerlifting, nel CrossFit e nel bodybuilding PR \u00e8 il termine dominante.<\/p><h3><strong>Cosa significa fare un PR in palestra?<\/strong><\/h3><p>Si dice &#8220;ho fatto un PR&#8221; quando si supera il proprio record personale precedente: ad esempio, squat a 100 kg quando il massimale precedente era 95 kg. Il PR si misura in peso (kg\/lbs), in tempo (secondi\/minuti), in numero di ripetizioni o in distanza, a seconda della disciplina.<\/p><p>Nei programmi di forza strutturati, ogni ciclo di allenamento \u00e8 spesso progettato con l&#8217;obiettivo esplicito di <strong>battere un PR<\/strong> alla fine del blocco \u2014 \u00e8 il modo migliore per misurare concretamente i progressi.<\/p><h2><strong>Il glossario completo: tutti i termini inglesi della palestra<\/strong><\/h2><p>Natty, gymbro, PT e PR sono solo la punta dell&#8217;iceberg. Il vocabolario anglofono del fitness \u00e8 ricchissimo e cambia velocemente, alimentato dai social e dai creator americani.
